Dahal asks party workers to concentrate on peace process, constitution
Maoist chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said peace process and the constitution-drafting are the main priorities of his party at the moment, asking his party cadres to be focussed on these twin agendas.
Dahal said this while speaking during the national training programme for senior party cadres at Kharipati, Bhaktapur, on Thursday. He also said his party was in favour of consensus to ensure timely drafting of the constitution and bring the peace process to a conclusion, but it would not compromise on the issues it has been raising [alluding to 'civilian supremacy' and 'national independence'].
Saying that the coming three months would mark a very critical phase, Dahal said the ‘revolution’ waged by the Maoist party would soon take a decisive turn. The Maoist chairman further mentioned that ‘rightist inclination’ is becoming a major problem in the party.
The two-day training programme, in which over 4000 senior Maoist cadres from around the country are participating, is concluding later today.
