Nepal – Dev Gurung – “We Need to Recommence our Revolution.”

Revolution in South Asia continues to provide news about the ongoing line struggle within the Unified Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist). One section of the party believea a path to socialism is impossible in Nepal at this time. The other wants to continue the revolution to its completion, moving Nepal forward to New Democracy and socialism.

Nepalese Leaders are Acting as Cowards

Kathmandu, November 19: Chief Whip of Unified Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist), Dev Gurung has said that uncompleted people’s war and revolution need to be finalized to its goal.

Speaking to an inaugurating ceremony of Nagarik Yuwa Bikas Club Saturday in Kathmandu, he said that grass roots people’ s mandate has not been fulfilled.

‘During the time of critical situation, Nepalese leaders cannot show their power and character to give rights to the people. Nepalese leaders are are acting as cowards.’ Accusing the leaders he added, ‘in shah regime, Communist Rayamaghi has backed royal Palace and now some Maoist leaders have backed India since power of palace has been shifted to New Delhi.

‘As Nepal has been a long way to New Nepal with federalism, Indian Expansionist has intervened to make new constitution drafted according to them. They are intervening in all the aspects of Nepalese firm and policy, security and economy.’ He said that, ‘without an issue of national sovereignty, we cannot make our own future. Hence we need to recommence our revolution and war analyzing the the current political situation.’
